Snapshot showing Sligo Street, named after the area where the John Hampton Sims plantation ("Woodlands") was located, south of Woodville. Woodlands was the birthplace and childhood home of William E. Sims. Sligo Street is the upper end of the road which went south (now U. S. 61) to the plantation, and on to St. Francisville, Louisiana. The plantation house, now gone, stood to the right (west) of the road at Sligo. The Sims family cemetery is nearby.
