Sims-Mitchell House B&B

Please note: we are not accepting reservations for dates after January 30, 2006 (see notice, and related correspondence and videos). Please contact other Chatham B&B's, or Danville accommodations, and thank you for your past patronage of the Sims-Mitchell House.

For the convenience of traveling families and others who enjoy a family atmosphere, the Sims-Mitchell House B&B offers convenient accommodations in a “home away from home.” Two suites are available, both offering private bath and two bedrooms, and one of which also provides an eat-in kitchen. One bed in each unit is outfitted with Tempur-Pedic® bedding.

An unpretentious ambience is created by furnishings used by the Mitchells' families during the 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the pieces of furniture have been enjoyed by several generations, and have collected charming stories along with their patina. Also evident is original art by numerous Southern artists including members of your host family.

“Waking-Up-Down-South Suite”

Within the Sims-Mitchell House itself, a guest suite is located in the raised English basement, which originally housed the Sims family dining room. A private street-level entrance leads to this suite of two bedrooms, sitting room, and bath. The present dining room is just upstairs by way of an inside staircase. For the convenience of guests, a mini-refrigerator and microwave are provided in the suite.

“Fleur-de-Lis Cottage”

A small 1950's guest cottage sits in the side yard of the Sims-Mitchell House. Offering privacy and convenience, it includes two bedrooms, bath, sitting room, kitchen, and utility room with washer and dryer.
