Chatham, Va. – Joseph Edward White, 66, of 1480 Beverly Heights Road, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at his residence.
Born January 13, 1937, in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of Sam White and Hazel Bennett White.
He was employed by the town of Chatham.
He is survived by his former wife, Annie White of Chatham; two stepdaughters, Nancy Waller and Shirley Martin, both of Chatham; one son, McArthur Womack of Washington, D. C.; five sisters, Louise White of Chatham, Metha Fortune, Nannie W. Owens and Clarissa Woodberry, all of Lexington, N. C., and Marian White of Houston, Texas; and two brothers, Percy White of Lexington and John Douglas White of Danville.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Chapel with Elder John L. Breedlove officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
A viewing and visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of Annie White, Friendship Road, Lot 6, Chatham.
