Mrs. Viccellio to Receive Son's Medals

Mrs. Annie H. Viccellio of Chatham has been officially notified by the War Department that [she] will receive the medals which have been awarded posthumously to her son, First Lieut. Charles H. Viccellio, for outstanding service to his country.

They include the Air Medal and three Oak Leaf Clusters for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flights in [the] European theatre of operations.

Lt. Viccellio, a fighter pilot, died in a station hospital in France on July 26 from wounds he had received two days earlier in battle.

Mrs. Viccellio was informed that her son's decorations will be presented to her in a ceremony arranged by the Third Service Command, the date to be announced later.
