Mary and Trubie Mitchell supported the Wiley Henry Scholarship Fund, established to honor the “Martha Girls” who came to Emory, and the relationship between E&H and Martha Washington College. Mary attended “Martha” prior to its closing during the Great Depression, at which point she transferred to Emory & Henry, and was graduated summa cum laude in 1933.
The scholarship is named for Mr. Wiley Henry, long-time employee of Martha Washington College and the Martha Washington Inn.
